In 1924, George Mallory and Sandy Irvine disappeared during a valiant bid to reach the summir of Everest. Writers and journalists, Peter and Leni's biography of Mallory won the Boardman Tasker prize for mountain writing in 2000. In this talk they will unveil some of Mallory's conflicting passions and the fatal choice he ultimately made. This talk is part of the Royal Scottish Geographical Society's 'Inspiring People' talks programme.
