The Galashiels branch of the ceramic experience, the award-winning chain of franchised paint-your-own-pottery studios, re-opens at Wheatlands Mill, Wheatlands Road, this weekend, from Friday, October 3^rd - with indoor Go Karts as an added attraction!

Manager Fiona Richmond is looking forward to welcoming Gala folk to the new outlet.Says Fiona, "Few people can resist the pleasure of decorating their own piece of personalised pottery, and we aim to offer a warm, friendly environment where people can enjoy their creativity.There's a cafe where customers can meet to relax and enjoy coffee and cake, while the young ones let off steam in the soft play and ball pool. Wheatlands Mill is a great site for us, and we're able to use the size of the place to add some great new features, like our fantastic indoor Go Karts.

the ceramic experience offers a wide range of pottery for painting, with all the tools and equipment to allow creativity to flourish. Customers select an item, and set their imagination free.On completion, painted pottery is glazed and fired, ready for collection on the following day (items painted in acrylic paint can be taken home on the same day).

Babies and children's hand and footprints on mugs, plates and tiles are popular, as are models of babies hands and feet, sculpted and framed. A cosy cafe and soft play centre ensure that there's something for everyone at the ceramic experience.

The largest operation of its kind in the UK, the ceramic experience was winner of the Federation Of Small Businesses Scottish Small Business Champions award 2005/6.Customers include children and adults, with parties including families, children's birthdays, hen parties, office outings and corporate team builders, and groups from schools and Brownies to the Women's Institute.
