St Mary's loch to Melrose sponsored run

What an achievement at the week end. I'm talking about the 29 mile marathon carried out by all those volunteers raising money for charity by running or walking from St Marys Loch to Melrose.

All the weeks of training and the getting sponsorship large and small was no small feat. Only one wee moan from me [a donor] that is, the organisers got it wrong when declaring Melrose Rugby team as coming in first in their group.

The Gala rugby club actually beat them by over an hour. Unfortunately the organiser says that it is not possible to correct the error as the cup has been presented to Melrose. Hard luck for the superb effort made by the a Gala players.

I also believe that the declared winning team did not actually contain any players. J.M. Scott
