Galashiels pensioner dies in hospital after flat fire

Galashiels pensioner Brian Hart has died from his injuries following a blaze in his flat in Langlee Drive.

Brian, 68, suffered burns and smoke inhalation after a fire broke out in the living room of his home on Monday 14th November.

Firefighters pulled him from the flat and he was taken to hospital but succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated but it is not thought to be suspicious.
