Gala Fairydean unlucky against Gretna 2008

Gala Fairydean last night crashed to their 7th defeat in the league this season and remain in 6th position. However the Fairies at least showed a lot of fight last night (Wednesday) and can feel unlucky not to come away without anything.

The Dean found themselves one down after 6 minutes, but eleven minutes later Kyle Collins headed past Gretna keeper, Mitchell.

The start of the second half saw Gala have a couple of good chances, with Jamie Gibson shooting over the top, from three yards out in front of an empty net. A few minutes later Gretna defended well as a succession of five shots in a few seconds was blocked and somehow Gretna got away with it.

Gala paid the price for their misses when Gretna scored the winner after 67 minutes, when the ball took a deflection and beat the Fairies keeper, Lummy.
