Video memories of Braw Lads Gatherings

As the events build towards the big day on Saturday, we thought it would be fun to take a look back at some Braw Lads Gatherings in past years.

So we had a bit of a trawl around on YouTube, and found quite a few great wee videos of Braw Lads Gatherings gone by.

Starting with last year's, here are three terrific clips of the 2010 event posted by BordersFHS.

This first shows the horses progressing along Channel Street, the second is a short clip of the crowds, and the third is the Galashiels Ex-Service Pipe Band.

Still at last year's event, here's the gallop up Scott Street, as filmed by baudron. It's shot on a phone, but it still captures the full excitement and drama of the event.

Finally, here's a blast from the past - five years ago, in fact: a slideshow of images from the Braw Lads Gathering of 2006, put together by TopperHotShot.

So there's your inspiration. Who's going to be the first to shoot some video of this year's Braw Lads events and post it here to s1galashiels for everyone to see?
