Hi Chris We in St Abbs and Coldingham agree with you all the way. There are lots of elderly people down here that rely on their local Post Office. If they can't get a lift how are they going to get their pensions? And how are locals who bank there going to manage? Tony Blair's comment years ago was "Looking after the small communities". Just a load of nonsense. - Jim
Chris, couldn't agree more. Why is everything closing down around us, Petrol stations in rural villages, pubs, post offices, bus routes being axed. For Gods sake we need to change this. I'm voting for you in the hope that something will actually get done. We're becoming a third world country - just look at the number of empty shops in Gala.
Chris, Any Government has a duty of care to ensure that some services are kept in place even if they are losing money. No one in modern day Britain should have to suffer the removal of such basic services ie. Police Stations, Post Offices, Library's, Fire Stations, Pubs, Buses (I could go on!!!) because of the location of their house. It is time that this was STOPPED and someone stood up and said enough was enough! Someone simply HAS to voice the concerns of people from the country, we need a champion to push the cause forward and put it in the national spotlight. I am behind you 100% and suspect that many other people are also.

There has been given no consideration whatsoever to the plight of folks who have difficulties in getting about --- it was bad enough having to park in Sime Place and stagger round to Channel Street but now --- unless you are ****** lucky, you have to stop in Park Street and endure a route march --- there should be a drive-in somewhere like they have at McDonalds --- that would solve it for us disabled!
