Gala Angling Association
About Us
The Association was formed way back in 1860 (when not many of our original members were about). Our waters cover roughly 13 miles of Upper and part Middle Tweed, from Ashiestiel to Lowood. About 5 and a half miles of the Gala Water and three quarter mile of the lower part of the Ettrick Water.
We offer brown trout and grayling fishing.
Our members interests are looked after by a General Committee of 15 and 1 Office Bearer.
The committee meets on a monthly basis, usually on the last Wednesday.
Our local membership stands at around 100 and we have the same number of visitor members.
We are members of S.A.N.A (Scottish Anglers National Association) the Federation of Borders Angling Associations and the "TTGI" (Tweed Trout & Grayling Initiative). We also have a representative on the River Tweed Commissioners General Council. Contact us at info@gala-angling.com
