Borders Additional Needs Group B.A.N.G
Borders Additional Needs Group (B.A.N.G) is a group set up by parents of children with special needs to support families who have children with additional, complex or rare conditions.
Children with special needs are not an easily defined group. What signifies them as children with special needs is the fact that they require additional help in some areas of development when compared to other children.
Any disability has a substantial effect on your child's ability to carry out normal activities, and the challenges of raising a child with special needs can be overwhelming at times.
In general, whatever the problem is, it is likely that parents will need advice and support to help them deal with the good and the bad times. At Borders Additional Needs Group, parents are able to support each other and encourage their children to live up to their potential. As we believe that every child should be celebrated for his or her uniqueness.
B.A.N.G members meet once a month for a coffee and a chat or an activity or day out. We meet at the Tweedbank Community Centre from 10am-12pm Saturday mornings. The dates of our next meetings are 12th January, 9th Febuary and 15th March.
Come along and meet us, where a warm welcome and hot tea and coffee awaits! Parents, children and siblings are all welcome.
